unit 18c task 3 (updated)

Unit 18c Task 3
From my analysis I have learnt that i can make a realistic photoshop product, and the fonts and pictures I have used are appropriate for my advert and do not offend anyone. I know that people can look at my advert and clearly identify that it is for young women as they commented that is was a girly and feminine advert. However, to improve my advert, i would make the perfume bottle more suitable for the name 'Summer Breeze' by perhaps adding more flowers to the bottle to give it a more summery feel. To improve further, i could add more information about the perfume to make the audience want to buy it more. Altogether, i feel i have made a successful advert as the people from my class said they would buy the product and tell a friend.

Unit 18c Task 2

unit 18c task 6

I believe that my perfume is suitable for my target audience as i have used a teenage girl in my advert, however, she has a tattoo that older women would have and my target audience is young women. I believe 'Summer Breeze' is a good name for my target audience as young people tend to go out a lot during summer breaks and holidays.

unit 18c task 4

My finished perfume advert matches my first block design that i had previously created. For example, everything shown in my block design is used in my advert, i also included everything i wanted to include on my finished advert, and placed them everywhere i said they would go.

unit 18c task 5

When making my advert for my perfume, i used technology to help it look more professional and like a real product. The technology that i used was Photoshop. Photoshop made my advert realistic, because photoshop contains tools that help make the photo more professional

unit 18c task 7 and 8

When producing my advert I experienced a difficulty, I had a problem cutting the image so that the background could be cut out. However, in the end this was solved and achieved. Although I have used photoshop in the other units of my work I believe that now I have an even better understanding of it then before. I clearly understand the tools and features photoshop has to offer. Using my own pictures for my advert gave me a good understanding of different camera angles to include light or to not make the picture look too dull.

unit 18c task 1

I believe the perfume advert that I have designed does fit all of the CAP codes instructed by the Advertising Standards Agency. In my advert there is no inappropriate language or pictures which could offend some people. I feel that the picture I have used in my advert is suitable and not inappropriate. In my perfume advert I have not made any false claims about my perfume product that may be misleading towards the audience. I feel my advert is straightforward and simple and appropriate for all ages, only displaying the perfume and an image of the model and which the perfume is aimed towards.

Unit 18b task 7

Possible Names For My Perfume
1.‘Bello’  - I have chosen ‘Bello’ because it means beautiful in Italian. I believe it is a suitable name as many women want to feel beautiful and that could be a main reason why the buy cosmetic products.
2. ‘Summer Breeze’ –I picked this name for a perfume name because i think that if it was to come from a cosmetic company they could make all different perfumes of the seasons. I also think this is a good name for a perfume as it will be popular throughout the summer season.
3. ‘Midnight’ –I chose this name for a perfume because I think it’s different from the rest of the names, all the other names represent innocence and this one is different because it is a darker more powerful perfume.
4. ‘Parfum’ – This means ‘Perfume’ in French which I feel is simple yet effective as it gets the point across easily.
5. ‘Innocent’ –The name innocent represents feminism well and is aimed at younger and more natural women, which fits my target audience well.

unit 18b task 3

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) is the UK's independent regulator of advertising across all media. They are there to check that all advertising companies do legal, decent, honest and truthful adverts by applying the Advertising Codes. The Advertising Codes lay down rules for advertisers, agencies and media owners to follow. They check these rules are being followed by investigation complaints made about the ads, sales promotions or direct marketing and decided whether or not the advertising complies with its advertising standards codes. Before distributing or submitting a marketing communication for publication, marketers must hold documentary evidence to prove all claims, whether direct or implied, that are capable of objective substantiation and that no marketing communication should mislead, or likely to mislead, by inaccuracy, exaggeration etc.

unit 7b task 5

When using photographs in a print product you will need to have a signed model release of the person/people that are in the image. You will need to seek permission from them to say that they give you permission to use the image. Models that are used and are under the age of 16 will require a parent of legal guardian’s signature on their behalf. The model will also be paid a certain amount of money in order for the photography to be used. If an image that is used in a print product already exists, you have to find and contact the copyright holder and gain permission to use the image for any commercial purpose. In some cases, some may ask for money in order for their image to be used.

Focus group feedback unit 7

Focus Group Feedback.
I collected feedback a group of students to see what their thoughts were about the design of my magazine cover.
When gathering the feedback from the students I showed them my first and last magazine cover to show that I have seen the mistakes and made changes to the cover and to see that those changes were clear. All of the students thought that my final magazine cover was good enough to be real and I had made clear changes from my first cover, which made the end product look more professional.
Most of the students liked to fact i used my image as the whole background as it was something different to other fashion magazine covers and the fact i made all of the cover lines and headings bright colours made them stand out a lot more which helps to catch the audience’s eye. My audience liked the fact the image was enlarged so it brought more attention to the model. One of my changes were to make the image clearer which eventually made the cover look more professional. My focus group also made a positive comment on my cover lines, saying the bright colours made them stand out a lot more and made them clearer to read.
One thing that one of the students said they would change about my magazine cover was the white headline as they said the cover lines stand out more. They also said they would have preferred the www.icon.com  to be in line with the bar code to make it look more professional and realistic.

Analysis Unit 7

Out of all of my primary resource results, all of the answers involved different years from the school, the children had similar ideas of which are the important and what is the second most important. I gathered their opinions and noticed that a few teachers had the same idea that it is a good way of understanding what their students want. This is believed as important at the school as of all the changes that have been taken place now and recently for example taking exams earlier than before. I believe that this is very important to keep on track, so they know what is needed from their students and help them to enjoy lessons as well as learning as this may help them to enjoy school a lot more. Other opinions were different and were more concerned about the work and punctuality. I think this task has made me more aware of what is going on at the school and helped me understand the importance of learning and achieving better grades. Using my answers I have gathered i think this will make the ‘Glossy Goffs Magazine’ more useful to students, teachers and parents, as it holds all of their own opinions. The most important headline the teachers spoke about, was the GCSE and A-level subjects and achieving the best to your ability.
